As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts. We are at that part of the draft where we need to get into the nitty-gritty. We need to dig deep and start looking at the values that are being criminally underrated because they just aren’t sexy enough. Sure, we all want something a bit younger. A bit sexier. We want a receiver we haven’t seen in our lineups for the last few years. Well, I’m here to tell you there is nothing sexier than grabbing Marvin Jones Jr. at his current ADP. So stop chasing all these hot, young receivers. Marvin Jones Jr. is wife material!

2021 Marvin Jones Jr. Overview:
The minute a man turns 30 in the NFL, we suddenly forget all the nice things he’s done for us. And in 2020, Marvin Jones did a lot of nice things for everyone who was rostering him. Hell, his 2019 wasn’t too shabby either, considering he missed three games. In 2020, Marvin Jones was the WR17. In 2019, Jones was the WR26. Yet, in the year of our Lord 2021, Marvin Jones Jr. inexplicably has an ADP as the WR50. In what universe does this make sense?
Over the past two years, Marvin Jones Jr has scored 18 touchdowns! Do you want to know the secret to his success? Being on a team with a defense so terrible, the offense has to constantly throw the football. Before you start worrying about the fact that Jones no longer plays for Detroit, I have some good news for you. Marvin Jones is in Jacksonville now, so he won’t be getting any defensive help this year either.
2021 Marvin Jones Jr. Fantasy Football Draft Strategy:
In 2020, Marvin Jones Jr. was a WR2 or better in every major statistical category for a wide receiver. In 2019, he ended as a WR3 in those same categories. Sure, Michael Pittman Jr. is a much younger junior around the same ADP as Jones, but I guarantee you Pittman isn’t at home raising your kids the way Marvin Jones Jr is. Then there are guys like DeVante Parker, Corey Davis, and Antonio Brown who all have higher ADPs, but were nowhere close to having the production of Marvin Jones Jr in 2020. Once that tenth round comes around, Marvin Jones Jr. is an absolute steal.
In auction drafts, Marvin Jones Jr. is great because nobody is blowing up their budget to get him. He is a guy you can easily get for $1 to $2. If someone nominates him, throw an extra $1 to get him on your bench. He provides reliable depth AND allows you to allocate money to other positions.
Best Case Scenario:
Marvin Jones Jr continues to do what he has done the past two seasons and ends up a top 25 receiver, vastly outperforming his current ADP.
Worst Case Scenario:
You were right to chase those sexy, young wide receivers. You end up cutting him to grab a waiver wire guy, which if we are being perfectly honest, you were already going to do with whoever you drafted at this spot. THERE IS LITERALLY NO DOWNSIDE TO DRAFTING MARVIN JONES JR!
