Week Four Defense Fantasy Football – Don’t Cross The Streams

week four defense

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league.  If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?  I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league!  Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses.  This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses.  Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing bad, because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good.  Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options on a weekly basis.

Tampa Bay DEF (24% owned)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be facing off against the New York Giants this week.  Right now, the New York Giants have the worst record of any New York team in football, which is impressive when you consider the New York Jets are actively trying to lose all their games.  For the Giants, being bad comes easy.  To date, they have given up the 6th most points to fantasy defenses, which makes them an optimal week four defense to stream.

Tennessee DEF (12% owned)

The Tennessee Titans offer a very interesting match up if you are looking for a week four defense to stream.  While their defense has its issues, they also are playing the Houston Texans.  The Texans are starting a rookie quarterback and have a terrible offensive line. The Titans run a very aggressive defense under Dick LeBeau and there is a lot of potential for them to accumulate sacks and turnovers.  Most important of all, the Houston Texans have given up the 2nd most points to fantasy defenses, which makes them a top choice as a week four defense.

Cincinnati DEF (53% owned)

I’ve already told you repeatedly that the Cincinnati Bengals are a dumpster-fire.  Having said that, they are still playing the Cleveland Browns.  A team who aspires to be as terrible as burning trash.  Cleveland has given up the 3rd most points to fantasy defenses this year.  If available, Cincinnati could prove to be a worthwhile streaming option as a week four defense.  Because there is always a chance the Cincinnati Bengals can turn things around.  But Cleveland is still where hope goes to die.

Thursday Night Bonus: Green Bay DEF (56% owned)

The Green Bay Packers will be playing the Chicago Bears in a Thursday night game.  Thursday Night Football always has the potential to be a complete disaster of terrible football.  Mike Glennon also always has the potential to be a complete disaster of terrible football.  Last week, Glennon barely threw for 100 yards.  This could end up being a winning combination of week four defense magic for the Green Bay Packers.
