Start or Sit Jared Cook, Greg Olsen, or O.J. Howard in Week 11?

Should I Start or Sit Jared Cook, Greg Olsen, or O.J. Howard in Week 11

As you know, my wife and I are going head to head this year to see who is better at predicting the unpredictable, and telling you who you should start or sit. I am using mostly statistical analysis with a touch of gut feeling. Erin is using whatever thing she uses to tell you how each player’s name speaks to her. Up until this week, I was holding a solid lead, but that all changed after a crazy horrible football weekend. As you’ll see below, my picks were atrocious. Erin’s, on the other hand, were marvelous. We both took a hit on Hockenson with the No Stafford Surprise. Really, Jimmy G?? A Monday night flop against the Seahawks? Seriously, Vance? Eleven yards… ELEVEN!? Alright, my fight to take back the lead in Week 11 starts in the TE twilight zone.

Week 11 Start or Sit Picks

Start or Sit Jared Cook at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 11

Bryan’s Take: In his first game back from injury, Cook looked pretty good. While the rest of the Saints,  Michael Thomas excluded, were pooping all over the field, Cook hauled in 6 catches for 76 yards, making him the eleventh-highest scoring TE in fantasy (starter!). This was a glitch in The Matrix game for the Saints, and they should bounce back to beyond normal against a terrible Buccaneers team. Get ready for a shootout in Tampa, and Start Jared Cook week 11.

Erin’s Take: Every time I hear the name Jared, all I think of is Subway. And, just like Subway sandwiches, Jared Cook sounds very bland. Like a guy who goes home to have a nice fish dinner with his wife. Sit Jared Cook in Week 11.

Start or Sit Greg Olsen vs. Atlanta Falcons Week 11

Bryan’s Take: Olsen saw his most targets (10) and catches (8) of the year last week in the snow in Lambeau. Granted, the Panthers were down early and chasing points, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this former TV analyst was balling. Kyle Allen obviously knows where to go when he needs to make a play. Here’s a hint: it’s Olsen. He should have a plenty of room to operate against the Falcons (see Jared Cook above). He may not get in the end zone, but the volume will be there. Start Greg Olsen week 11.

Erin’s Take:  He sounds very mature, but he’s just as bland as Jared Cook. I picture Greg Olsen as the kind of kid that wore sweatpants to high school. Not “cool” sweatpants like kids have today. Old man sweatpants. Sit Greg Olsen in Week 11.

Start or Sit O.J. Howard vs. New Orleans Saints Week 11

Bryan’s Take: Proving that the rumors of his death were greatly exaggerated, Howard awoke against the Cardinals last week, and scored his first TD of the year. I want to believe. I really do. The problem is the Cardinals rank 32nd in fantasy points allowed to tight ends. Also known as dead last. The Saints, on the other hand, rank seventh. This should for sure be a slugfest, and the Buccaneers for sure should throw as much as, or more than, normal, but I can’t trust Howard after one good game against an awful defense. Sit O.J. Howard in Week 11.

Erin’s Take: Even though his name reminds me of O.J. Simpson, it’s still a far sight better than Greg and Jared. In fact, “O.J.” makes me think of mimosas, America’s excuse to drink at breakfast. Have brunch, take a nap, and Start O.J. Howard in Week 11.

Final Ranks

Bryan: Jared Cook > Greg Olsen > O.J. Howard

Erin: O.J. Howard > Jared Cook > Greg Olsen
