Week Seven TE Sleepers – Raiding Fort Knox

Knox tight end sleepers

We’ve hit week seven, and the halfway point to most fantasy football leagues. We’ve also seemingly reached the ceremonial drop-dead point for a lot of teams in fantasy football leagues. Owners are starting to give up, and free agent pools have become more robust. There are limited numbers of roster slots in a league, and more people giving up means more people on the wire. That means you profit! As always, these fantasy football sleeper tight ends are available in at least 50% of Yahoo! leagues, with one deep dive available in at least 90% of leagues. As always, check Waleed’s Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet, but if you can’t find those tight ends, check out these week seven fantasy football sleeper quarterbacks!

Week Seven TE Sleeper:
Darren Fells at Indianapolis (26% Owned)

Well, at first I called him a “touchdown-only desperation play,” and then he went out and got six catches for 69 yards on a season-high seven targets. So maybe Darren already Fells-ed into your lap if you were chasing the two-touchdown dragon after week five. It’s likely the bottom will fall out from Fells soon, but ride the hot hand for now. This week he should get barely any competition. He gets the Colts this week, who have allowed at least eight fantasy points to tight ends in four-of-five games so far this season. Of course, now that I said this, all that production is going to go to Jordan Akins.

Week Seven TE Sleeper:
Dawson Knox versus Miami (21% Owned)

Could you strike gold with Knox? Or will you drown in Dawson’s creek? Miami has mostly shut down opposing tight ends since Mark Andrews crushed them in week one, but they’ve also not faced tight ends who have the capability of crushing them. Much respect to Jason Witten, Matt LaCosse, Lance Kendricks and Jeremy Sprinkly, but their 12 combined targets don’t make for a compelling sample size. Before Tennessee upset their gameplan, Knox had 125 yards and a touchdown in two games. Teams forgot about him during Buffalo’s bye week thanks to that disastrous Tennessee effort. Knox should provide a good PPR floor for those who believe in him this week, and hopefully, he Knox in a touchdown for you (sorry).

Week Seven TE Sleeper:
Dallas Goedert at Dallas (10% Owned)

Think back to when we were handwringing about Dallas Goedert potentially taking targets away from Zach Ertz, and about how the Eagles wanted to employ two-tight end sets. Then, Goedert hurt his calf in the preseason and wasn’t exactly right. Then, last week, he suddenly had eight targets, and there was no indication of a nagging calf injury. Let’s hope that rolls forward to the Sunday Night Football tilt against the Cowboys. He shouldn’t get much resistance against the Dallas defense. They were torched by Evan Engram week one, then they played a bunch of junk tight ends, then Ryan Griffin (?!) scored a touchdown against them last week. Overall, they give up the eighth-most fantasy points to tight ends on the season.
