Sure, we’ve all bandied about the phrase, “facts about the NFL week 13,” every time we felt the need to improve SEO. But this was the first week when “facts about the NFL week 13” became reality.
- Jacksonville has run three fake punts this year. All of them succeeded and led to touchdowns.
- Tarik Cohen has had a touchdown passing, receiving, rushing, and punt… uhhh, returning this season. However, he is not even the first Bears rookie to pull off this feat – Gale Sayers did it in 1965.
- The Dolphins set a franchise record with two safeties against the Broncos, Sunday. Interestingly, the all-time NFL record is held by the Rams, who had three safeties in the same quarter against the Giants in 1984.
- Frank Gore passed both Ladanian Tomlinson and Jerome Bettis to reach fifth place for most career rushing yards. Next up is Curtis Martin, who has 404 more yards than Gore. Getting the all-time record might prove impossible: Gore would need 4,658 rushing yards to reach Emmitt Smith.
- Tom Brady won his 27th game against the Bills, setting the record for most wins by a QB over one team.
- Hue Jackson’s last two wins came on Christmas Eve. This year, the Bears host the Browns on the morning before Christmas.
- After an 0-4 start, the Chargers are in first place in the AFC West . The only team to make the playoffs after starting 0-4 was the 1992 Chargers.
- Alvin Kamara has had touchdowns in 6 straight games, bringing his total for the season up to 11. The record for most touchdown’s by a Saints rookie is 13, set in 1981 by first overall pick George Rogers.
- Twice this year Seattle has faced what was the top scoring offense in the NFL at the time (they faced the Rams on week 5). Both times the Seahawks held their opponent to 10 points.
