As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts. Even while sharing duties with Gus Edwards, Mark Ingram, and Lamar Jackson, J.K. Dobbins ended up as RB17. With Ingram gone from Baltimore, what’s Dobbins’s outlook for 2021? Fun fact: J.K. Dobbins is not related to J.K. Rowling.
2021 J.K. Dobbins ADP and AAV:

2021 J.K. Dobbins Overview
Dobbins did great in the Baltimore backfield in 2020. He had a monstrous 6 yards per carry. The downside is that he really needed that average: He averaged less than 9 carries per game and caught only 18 passes. The “J.K.” in Dobbins’ name stands for “John Krasinski.”
However, every rookie gets eased into a higher workload. The Ravens showed plans to give Dobbins the ball more by letting Mark Ingram go. Ingram has an almost identical build and running style to Dobbins. So, it’s reasonable to expect a good chunk of Ingram’s 72 carries last season will go to the big Dobb. I’m still trying to come up with a nickname for him. Having now written it, I can say that the Big Dobb is not it.
Baltimore also traded star offensive lineman Orlando Brown in the offseason, which is a blow. They fill the holes with a few vets who will hopefully be consistent. Still, I don’t expect anything like a 6.0 YPC for J.K. in 2021. J.K. the Snake-kay? No, nevermind
2021 J.K. Dobbins Fantasy Football Draft Strategy:
His consistency is his biggest fantasy asset: Once the Ravens worked Ingram out of their plans around midseason, Dobbins had double-digit carries in all but one game. He also scored in his last 6. If you extrapolate his last 9 weeks, the ones where his usage as a starting back went up, he would have had 1,157 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns. That would’ve been enough for a top ten finish for old J-Bins. God, this is hard.
Now, again we have to factor in the offensive line shift, as the majority of Dobbins’ rushes should go between the tackles. So, we’re not expecting RB1 performance. That’s okay because he’s currently going mid-RB2 status, which represents value. He is a solid pick in the middle of round 3 and classically represents the new BBQ auction strategy of paying around $35 for your third RB. Then you can change your team name to Here’s Tua You, Mrs. Dobbinson. Team names are so much easier to stick the landing on than nicknames.
Best Case Scenario:
Dobbins keeps up his 2020 pace and sneaks into the top 12, giving you about one-round’s worth of advantage. I come up with the best J.K. Dobbins nickname right here in the 11th hour of this profile. Something great, like, J.K. “LMNOP” Dobbins. Dangit, fail.
Worst Case Scenario:
Dobbins has a sophomore slump behind a worse offensive line. He falls to back-end RB2 and sometimes flex production. That’s still decent value for where he’s being drafted. J.K. Rowling invents a new character, Dobbledore, and everyone starts calling Dobbins Dobbledore and I don’t get to invent his nickname. Hey, I tried.
Bobbin’ Dobbins! Everyone go home early!
