The Dallas Cowboys are set at all the fantasy football-eligible positions, so it shouldn’t surprise you that not only did they only take one guy, but they didn’t take him until the fifth round. In the first four rounds, they took six defensive players, at all levels. That tells you all you need to know about how they felt about their team’s needs. That also tells you that the Dallas Cowboys did not see their lone fantasy football-eligible selection as a high priority.
But, can we expect anything for the newest Dallas Cowboys draftee? Will he be worth rostering in 2021 fantasy football leagues?

Round 5, Pick 179: Simi Fehoko, Wide Receiver, Stanford (6’4” 220 pounds)
WR1: Amari Cooper
WR2: CeeDee Lamb
WR3: Michael Gallup
WR4: Cedrick Wilson
WR5: Simi Fehoko
Fehoko doesn’t do much technically well. But, he’s exceptionally fast, which will carve him out a role in the NFL for four or five years. He also could flash as a fantasy football-relevant player for a while, but not in this situation. Fehoko has nice hands and extremely easy speed. He will mostly profile for the Cowboys as a big boy who can go over the top of opposing defensive backs or let them go over the top to throw him the ball.
Fehoko is a monster athlete, but his Relative Athletic Scores say it all when it comes to it translating to the NFL:
Fehoko is a large guy who can go in a straight line very well, and being big and heavy, while going in a straight line usually only works for trains. Fehoko is just okay in his agility and explosiveness. But, the kid can fly, so he will get some work for the Cowboys this year. But the question for fantasy football is how much? The answer is… not much!
He’s buried behind three of the top-forty wide receivers in the NFL and was taken in the fifth round. I doubt we see anything at all from Simi Fehoko, even if he flashed something that excited me, which he didn’t. He’s behind Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard, Blake Jarwin, Cedrick Wilson and Dalton Schultz for targets. But other than that, I’m excited about his volume.
2021 FANTASY FOOTBALL OUTLOOK
Let me reiterate. He’s behind Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard, Blake Jarwin, Cedrick Wilson and Dalton Schultz for targets.
