Week 2 Defense Streamers – Decisions, Decisions!

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league! Why do you hate winning? Let us help you pick a week  two defense to stream.

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses: Just find the best matchup on the waiver wire and plug that defense into your lineup. This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses. Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing bad, because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good. Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options on a weekly basis.

New York Jets DEF (21% owned) vs Cleveland

If you look at Cleveland’s offense last week, you might not believe in the hype anymore. In fact, you might think that offense is a mess. And if you think that, the New York Jets DEF looks like a mighty interesting play in week two. They were the third-highest scoring defense in week one and they are playing the offense that gave up the second most fantasy points to an opposing defense in week one.  Wow, those two factors are a mighty tasty match-up and I will choose the Jets to stream as my week two defense.

Tennessee DEF (15% owned) vs Indianapolis

But then you might think to yourself that doesn’t make any sense. With all that talent on Cleveland, maybe they are pretty good. And if Cleveland is good, then maybe the Tennessee Titans are even better. After all, they had the second most points of any fantasy defense in week one.  Who are they playing? Indianapolis. Oh, that could be good. Indianapolis has to be on the verge of collapsing.  First Andrew Luck retires. Then in their first real game in the wake of that heartbreak, they lose a heartbreaker to the Los Angeles Chargers. They might be one bad play away from spiraling out of control. It could happen this week if Tennessee looks like they did against Cleveland. Maybe I should pick the Titans defense to be my week two defense to stream.

Indianapolis DEF (19% owned) @ Tennessee

Wait, what am I talking about. Maybe the Titans are good? Why would I believe that? Because Marcus Mariota managed to not get hurt? Because Derrick Henry had his one good game a year? Do I really want to start Tennessee with the idea that they might not be terrible for the first time ever? And against an Indianapolis team that was shook to its core and still managed to bring one of the AFC favorites to make the Super Bowl all the way to overtime. Who were one Parkey’esque field goal kicker away of being 1-0. Maybe I should be streaming Indianapolis for my week two defense.
