Week Sixteen Fantasy Football Streaming Defenses: Bearly Any Other Options

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league.  If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?  I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league!  Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses.  This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses.  Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing badly because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good.  Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options every week.

Chicago Bears DEF (21% owned) @ Arizona Cardinals

It is another weekend where I tell you to start the Bears and it is another week where I am derided for being the fantasy football visionary that I am. Over the last four weeks, the Chicago Bears defense averages 15 points a game. That is the second-best clip in that stretch. The best part is that they are playing an Arizona Cardinals team that is one of the worst teams in football. The Bears perfectly blend a legitimately good defense with a great matchup against a bad football team. The Chicago Bears will win people their fantasy leagues.

Green Bay Packers DEF (57% owned) @ Carolina Panthers

The Packers miss my normal threshold of 50%, but we are in the fantasy playoffs and it is time to look for home runs. The Carolina Panthers are coming off a win and I do not believe they are capable of winning two consecutive games. The Panthers have the 4th most sacks on offense, score the 4th fewest points in football, and give up the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing defenses. If you can’t get the Bears, get the Packers.

Denver Broncos DEF (46% owned) @ New England Patriots

If both the Bears and Packers are not available, take the defense that is playing Bailey Zappe. The Broncos have the worst scoring offense in football and have the 9th most turnovers on offense. If I can’t get the Packers or Bears, I will take the defense that is playing a Patriots team that gives up the 5th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
