2023 Week 15 Fantasy Football Streaming Defenses: Fine, Start the Bears, Sure. Why Not.

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league.  If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?  I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league!  Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses.  This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses.  Bad offenses are likelier to keep playing badly because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good.  Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options every week.

Chicago Bears Defense (6% owned) @ Cleveland Browns

It is time for the gauntlet to be thrown at my editor. Every week I pick the Bears, and the title of this article becomes some joke about my fandom. I DEMAND RESPECT! The fact remains that over their last four games, the Bears have 11 sacks and 11 turnovers. They have been a top-five fantasy defense and real-world football defense. And in week 15, they are playing a Cleveland Browns that is giving up the 7th most fantasy points to opposing defenses. In a top-ten fantasy match-up, give me the fantasy defense that has been averaging 11 points a game over the last four weeks.

Atlanta Falcons Defense (45% owned) @ Carolina Panthers

If you do not dare to follow my very obvious successes in picking the Bears, the more popular week 15 streaming option for defense is the Atlanta Falcons. There is a good reason for this. The Carolina Panthers are really bad at football. The Panthers have given up the 4th most sacks in football, scored the 3rd fewest points, and given up the 4th most fantasy points to opposing defenses. If you can’t get the Bears, start the Falcons.

Los Angeles Rams Defense (17% owned) @ Washington Commanders

If both the Bears and Falcons are not available, the Washington Commanders are a fantastic consolation prize. They give up the 5th most turnovers to opposing defenses, have the 2nd most sacks, and give up the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
