Fantasy Football Week 9 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet: Going All(geier)-In

Week eight of the 2026 NFL season is done, and you are looking in the mirror wondering how it all went so wrong. You thought Lamar being healthy would finally fix things, and you were wrong. You thought Jacoby Brissett would cook against the Cowboys’ defense, and you were wrong. You thought you could win at fantasy football, but you don’t have to be wrong. Before you give up on your fantasy season, remember that the waiver wire exists to save you from the cruel and unforgiving fantasy football gods. I will provide you with the best options available.  If I don’t mention someone whom you think I should be talking about, just know there are many reasons why I overlooked them. Maybe they are owned in most leagues. Maybe they are so bad I don’t even consider them.  Or maybe it’s because your opinions cannot be trusted. After all, you are here. So let us examine our best week nine waiver wire options for our championship run…

Week Nine Waiver Wire Quarterbacks
Malik Willis, Miami Dolphins (22% rostered)

The last couple of weeks, Malik Willis has looked significantly better at quarterback. Unfortunately, the easy solutions to cover quarterback have now passed, but if you need a spot start, nobody has a better schedule over the next three weeks than Malik Willis.  Over the next three weeks, Willis plays the Lions, the Colts, and the Bills. This is a great spot for streaming quarterbacks.  I wouldn’t necessarily burn my waiver priority on him, but once he clears waivers, I am snatching him up.

Week Nine Waiver Wire Running Backs
Jonah Coleman, Denver Broncos (57% rostered)

Jonah Coleman was RB11 in week eight before the Monday Night Football game with 104 all-purpose yards and 1 touchdown.  More importantly, Coleman had 11 carries to Dobbins 7.  Jonah Coleman also led the team in receptions. If Coleman is available on your waiver wire, he should be the number one addition for the week.

Mike Washington, Las Vegas Raiders (36% rostered)

Mike Washington Jr. saw 60% of the Raiders’ snaps compared to Ashton Jeanty’s 40%.  More importantly, Washington had 25 carries to Jeanty’s 2.  Jeanty has been a huge disappointment this year, and this change in usage feels significant. If you need running back help, you have to grab Mike Washington on the off-chance he becomes the new lead back in Vegas.  Even if he doesn’t, it is clear that he will be a significant part of their offense.

Tyler Allgeier, Arizona Cardinals (53% rostered)

The good news is Tyler Allgeier was RB1 in Week 8 with 107 all-purpose yards and 2 touchdowns. The bad news is that he doesn’t get to play the Cowboys again this year. With Bam Knight and Jeremiah Love both hurt, Tyler Allgeier is a must-add on waivers.

Emmett Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs (19% rostered)

As a pure handcuff, Emmett Johnson is worth a spot on your bench. If Kenneth Walker gets hurt, Johnson is a potential league winner.  However, with the Kansas City passing offense in such a dire spot, Emmett Johnson has some sneaky PPR value. In week eight, Johnson had 143 all-purpose yards, and almost all of it came through the air.  If you cannot get Coleman or Allgeier, grab Johnson. Even if you can grab them, Emmett Johnson is worth a roster spot.

Week Nine Waiver Wire Wide Receivers
Demario “Pop” Douglas, New England Patriots (31% rostered)

In week eight, Pop Douglas had 3 catches for 76 yards and 1 touchdown. With AJ Brown having a degenerative knee, there is room for Douglas to be the lead receiver in this room. This is a high-upside bet if you need wide receiver help.

Adonai Mitchell, New York Jets (11% rostered)

The New York Jets might have one of the most fun receiving rooms in football, top to bottom. We’ve seen Garrett Wilson, Omar Cooper Jr., and Kenyon Sadiq. This week, it was Adonai Mitchell coming back from injury and making his presence known. Truth be told, I’m not sure you need to grab this guy off waivers. This room is too crowded to figure out reliably who is going to be the guy. However, if you need someone, this is a guy who could potentially break out week to week.

Week Nine Waiver Wire Tight Ends
Nobody (0% rostered)

There is literally nobody on the waiver wire I have the slightest bit of interest in at tight end. Read the weekly streamer article if you want a guy.

[Editor’s Note: Spoiler Alert, those guys are going to be Greg Dulcich and Chigoziem Okonkwo]
