Should I Start or Sit Cole Beasley, Zach Pascal, or James Washington in Week 15?

As you know, my wife and I are going head to head this year to see who is better at predicting the unpredictable, and telling you who you should start or sit. I am using mostly statistical analysis with a touch of a gut feeling. Erin is using whatever thing she uses to tell you how each player’s name speaks to her. We covered tight ends yesterday, and now we’ll be breaking down some Week 15 wide receivers.

First, A Quick Week 14 Recap…
Erin’s upward momentum just keeps on momenting upward, and my late-season slump continues. I’m now down NINE on the year. This experiment is generating some unexpected, but not totally surprising, results.

Week 15 Start or Sit Picks

Start or Sit Cole Beasley at Pittsburgh Steelers Week 15

Bryan’s Take: Cole Beasley’s on a bit of a hot streak lately, scoring in three consecutive games, and six of his last eight. He also hasn’t had fewer than four catches in his last six games. That’s pretty hot. The Steelers, however, have not allowed a TD to a WR in two straight games, but I don’t care. The Bills are fighting for their second playoff berth in three years and will come out swinging. Start Cole Beasley in Week 15.

Erin’s Take: All I can think of is Ron Weasley from Harry Potter, which prompted me to look up a picture of Cole Beasley. Yup. Redhead. Nailed it. I like Ron Weasley. He’s loyal, trustworthy, and was one hell of a Quidditch Keeper. Start Cole Beasley in Week 15.

Start or Sit Zach Pascal at New Orleans Saints Week 15

Bryan’s Take:  In T.Y. Hilton’s absence, Zach Pascal has been leaned on pretty heavily the last two weeks, racking up 12 catches, for 183 yards, and a TD. Who knows when we’ll see Hilton again, so Pascal appears to be the Colts’ de facto WR1 for the foreseeable future. The Saints are coming off a crushing, last second, come from behind loss to the 49ers, and will be out for blood. I have a feeling the Colts are going to be forced into throwing more than they’re comfortable, which should create some positive fantasy numbers for the Colts offense. Start Zach Pascal in Week 15.

Erin’s Take: If you’ve ever seen Live PD, you’ve probably seen Pasco County, Florida. That is where my mind goes when I heard the name “Pascal.” And if you’re familiar with the types of characters encountered on Live PD, in Pasco County, you know it’s a bunch of hillbilly trouble. Sit Zach Pascal in Week 15.

Start or Sit James Washington vs. Buffalo Bills Week 15

Bryan’s Take: James Washington had torn it up in Weeks 12 and 13, convincing me to trust starting him in Week 14. He repaid that trust by falling violently back to Earth. In reality, Washington has great home run potential and can break a long bomb TD at any time. The Bills have only allowed 12 passing TDs on the year, and, as previously stated, will be fighting for a playoff spot. Washington’s floor is too low to start in the fantasy playoffs. Sit James Washington in Week 15.

Erin’s Take: James Washington has a name that should belong to a long-dead historical figure. Like, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. I even tried substituting “Jimmy” for “James,” but that doesn’t make it any better for me. Sit James Washington in Week 15.

Final Ranks
Bryan: Zach Pascal > Cole Beasley > James Washington
Erin:  Cole Beasley > James Washington > Zach Pascal
