2018 Fantasy Football Derek Carr Player Profile

Week Twelve Waiver Wire

If you don’t want your team broken, you will definitely want to read this fantasy football Derek Carr player profile. As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts.  When you don’t see us talking about Christine Michael or Mike Davis, don’t get mad at us for neglecting your favorite sleeper.  Get mad at yourself for having bad taste in football players.

When looking at my player profiles, It is important to note that I think quarterback play is replaceable for low-end QB1’s.  So when I evaluate quarterback prospects, I am looking for top three potential  This will skew my perspective and analysis.  Because I am gambling on upside, I tend to draft two quarterbacks and the quarterbacks I draft tend to be younger.

Fantasy Football Derek Carr Overview: Derek Carr is one of the most fascinating quarterback prospects in this draft.   Going into 2016, Derek Carr was the belle of the ball.  Then in 2017, the Denver Bronco’s did their best Bane impression and tried to break him.  Although if we are being honest, he was still disappointing before the injury happened.   But when we consider the news of the drama amongst his coaching staff, coupled with the injury, I am inclined to give Derek Carr a pass.  Especially at his current value.  If he comes back to 2016 form, you are getting a top ten fantasy quarterback at a discounted rate.  I have concerns, but not enough to outweigh the discount I am getting him at.

Fantasy Football Derek Carr Strategy:  If we treat his 2017 season as an anomaly,  which I do, then Derek Carr has tremendous value.  I have him there with my 9th and 10th round quarterback values and I feel pretty good about my team if I pick him up.  But not good enough that I wouldn’t hedge my bets with a second quarterback.

Ceiling: Carr, like Batman, will come back harder and stronger to defeat the evil Denver Broncos.  He will end the year as a QB1 and your faith in Gotham (Oakland) will be restored.

Floor:  What will actually happen is it’ll turn out Oakland, like Gotham, is beyond saving.  Mark Davis will flee Oakland, leaving a broken Derek Carr behind.
