When looking at my player profiles, It is important to note that I think quarterback play is replaceable for low-end QB1’s.  So when I evaluate quarterback prospects, I am looking for top three potential  This will skew my perspective and analysis.  Because I am gambling on upside, I tend to draft two quarterbacks and the quarterbacks I draft tend to be younger.

Fantasy Football Blake Bortles Overview:  The Blake Bortles player profile is an interesting case study when it comes to fantasy football.  Over the last three seasons, Bortles has ended the year as a QB1.  Yet you would be hard-pressed to find someone who thought he was one of the twelve best quarterbacks in football.  With good reason, because he most certainly is not.  Blake Bortles is irrefutable proof that you do not have to be good at football to be good at fantasy football.  The issue with trusting in Bort is that the better Jacksonville’s running game and defense is, the less responsibility he will have…  And they could be amongst the best in the NFL at both of those.

Fantasy Football Blake Bortles Strategy:  Having said all that, Bortles is an absolute steal at his ADP. While he is undraftable in QB1 leagues, he is a great value play in QB2 leagues.  He is an ideal third quarterback in a 2QB league because you can still get him relatively late and focus on other positions.  The fact is, despite not being good at football, he still somehow manages to consistently produce.

Ceiling: Somehow, he will end the year as a QB1 and we will be quietly wondering if he serves the same dark lord as Bill Belichick.

Floor:  He will remember that he is Blake Bortles and stop accruing garbage-time stats and just be garbage.
