2023 Week 8 Fantasy Football Starts & Sits: Dak Prescott, Darrell Henderson, Javonte Williams & More!

2021 Dak Prescott Dallas Cowboys

Alright, I’ll be honest: I’m a little worried the Lions might be fraudulent. I know, they’ve played well in every win. They have one of the best wins of the season on the road in Kansas City. But the way Baltimore dismantled Detroit… great teams don’t usually get blown out like that. The Lions will still win the NFC North. They may even win a playoff game. They will not win the Super Bowl.

QB START OF THE WEEK: Sam Howell, WAS vs. PHI (ECR: 16, my rank: 11)

This seems like a bad matchup at first glance, but the Eagles haven’t been good against opposing quarterbacks this season. Howell already played well once this season against Philadelphia, and I bet he does so again.

QB SIT OF THE WEEK: Dak Prescott, DAL vs. LAR (ECR: 11, my rank: 14)

Why are we still doing this? Dak has been a QB1 once this season and it was in an incredibly easy matchup with the Chargers. The other Los Angeles team is significantly better at corralling opposing QBs. No chance you’ll catch me starting Dak this week.

OTHER QB SITS:

C.J. Stroud, HOU @ CAR (ECR: 10, my rank: 15)

RB START OF THE WEEK: Darrell Henderson, LAR @ DAL (ECR: 33, my rank: 16)

Hendo’s back, baby. He’s good again. Awooooooo (wolf howl).

OTHER RB STARTS:

D’Onta Foreman, CHI @ LAC (ECR: 26, my rank: 21)

RB SIT OF THE WEEK: Javonte Williams, DEN vs. KC (ECR: 22, my rank: 38)

Kansas City’s defense is really good. Denver’s offense is not very good. Javonte Williams is in a three-headed RB by committee. This is a recipe for fantasy disaster.

WR START OF THE WEEK: Amari Cooper, CLE @ SEA (ECR: 36, my rank: 19)

Did everyone forget that Cooper had over 100 receiving yards against the 49ers with P.J. Walker throwing him the ball? It happened two weeks ago! It very well could happen again in a matchup with Seattle’s leaky pass defense.

OTHER WR STARTS:

Drake London, ATL @ TEN (ECR: 30, my rank: 20)
George Pickens, PIT vs. JAX (ECR: 27, my rank: 24)

WR SIT OF THE WEEK: Jaylen Waddle, MIA vs. NE (ECR: 15, my rank: 28)

Waddle has been saved by touchdowns the past two weeks. He’s still the clear WR2 in an offense with a dominant WR1. I also don’t care for the matchup against New England. Waddle is a flex consideration only for me.

OTHER WR SITS:

Chris Olave, NO @ IND (ECR: 14, my rank: 27)

TE START OF THE WEEK: Logan Thomas, WAS vs. PHI (ECR: 13, my rank: 10)

Back to the well again! Logan Thomas is the blobbiest blob TE who ever blobbed. He’s boring and not very good, but he gets enough targets to put up good PPR numbers on a semi-regular basis. I’m counting on a nice 7/57/0 stat line from Thomas on Sunday.

TE SIT OF THE WEEK: Jake Ferguson, DAL vs. LAR (ECR: 11, my rank: 17)

A$AP Ferguson has caught just four passes for 43 yards over the last two games. He cannot be trusted over more reliable options such as Dalton Schultz. Maybe the Cowboys should look into acquiring Schultz. Can you imagine? Dalton Schultz in a Cowboys uniform? Pretty cool.
