Week Sixteen Defense Fantasy Football – Welcome to the Dark Side

washington week sixteen defense

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses.  This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses.  Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing bad because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good.  Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options on a weekly basis. With that in mind, please enjoy these week sixteen defense streamers for all your championship needs. To qualify for this article, teams must have under 50% ownership on Yahoo!

Indianapolis DEF (40% owned) @ Carolina

I’m going to keep it nice and simple for you.  Over the last three weeks, the teams that played Carolina had top-ten defensive fantasy performances.  The Carolina Panthers are on a six-game tailspin that already cost Ron Rivera his job.  But his firing did not bring a dead panther bounce, it just allowed the Panthers to dare as little as possible.  Right now, I want to start a campaign to free CMC, but I’ll settle for starting any defense that is playing Carolina.

Kansas City DEF (37% owned) @ Chicago

Over the last month, Mitchell Trubisky has been putting up some admirable fantasy numbers.  He has started to show some development.  This is why this is exactly the perfect spot for him to go full-Trubisky.  With the Bears eliminated from the playoffs, I feel like this is a game where the Bears just start playing football with their pants around their ankles.  I just expect full clown cars.  Why? I’m a Bears fan and it feels right.

Washington DEF (11% owned) @ New York Giants

At no point this season did I think that I would recommend Washington as a defensive streamer, let alone a week sixteen defense streamer.  I can only attribute this to my own declining morals.  Although it wouldn’t be fair to not let you know why I like Washington.  Because I do like them in week sixteen.  Over the last four weeks, Washington has been a top-ten defense.  This week, they are playing a New York Giants team that just put Evan Engram on injured reserve and has given up the second-most fantasy points to opposing defenses.  Washington is a great start in week sixteen.
