Start or Sit A.J. Brown, Chris Conley, or Randall Cobb in Week 12?

Should I Start or Sit A.J. Brown, Chris Conley, or Randall Cobb in Week 12

As you know, my wife and I are going head to head this year to see who is better at predicting the unpredictable, and telling you who you should start or sit. I am using mostly statistical analysis with a touch of a gut feeling. Erin is using whatever thing she uses to tell you how each player’s name speaks to her. Yesterday we covered quarterbacks. Now, we’re moving on to wide receivers.

Week 12 Start or Sit Picks

Start or Sit A.J. Brown vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Week 12

Bryan’s Take: A.J. Brown has been a picture of volatility all year, as has the Titans offense overall. Even with the QB switch to Ryan Tannehill, Brown has not been any more trustworthy. Sure, Tannehill will let it fly with the best of them. And fly they do. Here, there, and everywhere,  but rarely into the hands of receivers more than 15 yards downfield. Of Tannehill’s 13 completions last week, only four went to wide receivers. Seven went to tight ends. It’s still possible for Brown to go off on any given week, but he’s just as likely to repeat last week’s one catch, 17 yard performance. Sit A.J. Brown in Week 12.

Erin’s Take: Wholesome, All-American A.J. BrownI mean, you can’t get more hot dogs, apple pie, and Budweiser than that. He was born and raised to be a professional athlete, and, obviously, football was the sport that stuck. Start A.J. Brown in Week 12.

Start or Sit Chris Conley at Tennessee Titans Week 12

Bryan’s Take: D.J. Chark is the man in Jacksonville, but Chris Conley is shaping up to be a fine #2. Conley has had 7+ targets in each of the last four games. In Nick Foles’ first game back, he targeted Conley eight times, which he turned into six catches for 58 yards. Minshew Mania was fun while it lasted, but Foles will be the better option. He got to knock some rust off last week, and this week should be a cleaner game all around. I’m expecting the Jags to come out firing. Start Chris Conley in Week 12.

Erin’s Take: For some reason, his name makes me think of Hollywood. Like a flashy, edgy movie star, who seeks the spotlight and doesn’t shy away from any attention, good or bad. He wants to hear his name, and he wants you to hear his name. Start Chris Conley in Week 12.

Start or Sit Randall Cobb at New England Patriots Week 12

Bryan’s Take: Cobb has back to back games with 100 yards and a TD, but things may change in New England. The Patriots have given up one receiving TD to a wide receiver all year. ONE!!! Now, all that said, the Cowboys, more specifically Dak Prescott, are on fire. While the Pats are busy with Ezekiel Elliot and Amari Cooper, Cobb may be able to find some room to work. This America’s Game of the Week has all the makings of a classic, and I want to be a part of it! Start Randall Cobb in Week 12.

Erin’s Take: I’m sure he’s an adequately skilled football player, but he has the name of a crotchety, old 1950’s  baseball manager. Plus, he’s got two Bs at the end of his name because he’s double boring. Sit Randall Cobb in Week 12.

Final Ranks

Bryan: Chris Conley, Randall Cobb, A.J. Brown

Erin: Chris Conley, A.J. Brown, Randall Cobb
