Week 16 Start or Sit Jarvis Landry, Chris Hogan, or Antonio Callaway?
It’s finals week! Time to bring home the big prize that you have been neglecting your work and loved ones all these months for. You might find yourself scrolling down rankings lists and squinting your eyes on every stat you can find, trying to find a reliable start. Let us do that hard work for you, with concise summaries as to what players have a good chance to go off, and why.
Should I Start or Sit Jarvis Landry?
Gone are the days when Landry regularly hoovers up most of his teams targets and- what’s that? Jarvis Landry is actually eighth in the league in terms of total targets? THEN WHY IS HE FIFTEENTH IN CATCHES? When the dust settles on the 2018 fantasy football season, Landry will look like he had a high-end WR2 season. However, owners know better: Whether to start or sit Landry is something we have to ask ourselves every single week. After three double-digit HPPR performances in his first four games with the Browns, Landry has had just three in his past ten games. You can get a much higher floor from a variety of consistent receivers on the wire. If you need a flex, Landry might do in a pinch, but if you’re thinking of putting him as one of your two main receivers, consider him a sit.
Should I Start or Sit Chris Hogan?
A huge play in his last game and the dissolving of Josh Gordon’s rule-abiding disguise has some owners pondering whether to start or sit Chris Hogan in for their championship game. Step back and look at the bigger picture: Hogan sucks as a fantasy performer. That long touchdown gave him his first double-digit fantasy scoring game (HPPR) since week two. Even after scoring a 65-yard TD on New England’s opening drive, he was only targeted by Brady two more times. Take that in: Brady has a depleted receiver core and still thinks so low of Hogan that he refused to look his way even after he had a long touchdown. That’s not what you want to start against a Buffalo defense that is top 10 in holding receivers to bad fantasy days. Chris Hogan is a resounding sit.
Should I Start or Sit Antonio Callaway?
This preseason darling has found a bit of sync with Baker Mayfield. He’s scored twice in his last four games and faces a soft Bengals defense. However, don’t rush to slot him in just yet. In his week 14 game, Callaway was targeted just once and gained zero yards. ZERO! You really want to trust someone who scored less than one point just two weeks ago? Whether to start or sit Callaway should only be a question entertained by people with two or more flex spots. Otherwise, he’s a sit. Go to your waiver wire and get someone with a higher floor.
If you must decide between these players, here’s how I rank them:
- Jarvis Landry
- Antonio Callaway
- Chris Hogan
