Week Fifteen Defense Fantasy Football – A Giant Turnaround

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league! Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses. This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses. Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing bad because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good. Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options on a weekly basis.

Seattle Seahawks DEF (49% owned)

Somehow, the Seattle Seahawks are only owned in 49% of leagues. That number won’t stay that low after the beatdown they put on the Minnesota Vikings. Especially when fantasy owners realize that the Seahawks are playing a San Francisco 49ers team that has given up the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing defenses. What better option for defensive streaming than a Seattle Seahawks team that is making its playoff push.

New York Giants DEF (22% owned)

If you haven’t been paying attention to the New York Giants after the bye, you might not have noticed that they are not the same football team they were to begin the season. They have won four of their last five games. More importantly, over the last four weeks, they have 14 sacks, 10 turnovers, and 3 defensive touchdowns. The New York Giants are rolling right now. This week, they get to play a Tennessee Titans team that has given up the 8th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.

Detroit DEF (22% owned)

I’m probably starting to sound like a broken record at this point. I might as well just start copying and pasting my advice regarding the opponents of the Buffalo Bills. The Buffalo Bills have given up the most fantasy points to opposing defenses and while Josh Allen hasn’t quite been the trash quarterback Jalen Ramsey proclaimed him to be, the Bills offense is decidedly bad.  If you don’t have a better option, just bet against the Bills.
