2018 Fantasy Football Delanie Walker Player Profile

If your favorite musical instrument is the metronome, then this fantasy football Delanie Walker player profile is for you.

As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts.  When you don’t see us talking about Christine Michael or Mike Davis, don’t get mad at us for neglecting your favorite sleeper.  Get mad at yourself for having bad taste in football players.  We are only focusing on the top-rated running backs in standard scoring and points per game leagues.

With my player profiles, I’ve only decided to go back to look at their fantasy scoring for three years.  I could show you lists from earlier, but at the skill positions, I think three years is plenty to see what a player does.  I’ve also added a chart for their usage over that time span.  We will try to determine, based on those two factors, where the best wide receiver value lies.

Overview: You can set your watch to Mariota2Delanie for fantasy football production. He always ends up towards the back-end of the top-ten during draft season and consistently ends up inside the top five-or-six tight ends. He gets a ton of yards, so he misses out on the capricious nature of touchdowns that most tight ends need for production. He gets his share of scores (4-7 a season), but his yardage creates a great fantasy floor, especially in PPR. He is nursing a foot injury, but that has been true of Walker for nearly his entire tenure in Tennessee.

Strategy: Get Delanie when you feel like you’re stealing him from your league mates. He isn’t the sexiest player (sorry Mrs. Walker), but he’s going in the range of upside part-time guys like Will Fuller, Rashaad Penny, and Sony Michel. If you don’t believe in those guys, get Delanie Walker and laugh all the way to the bank. He will continue to be at or near the most-targeted player in Tennessee.

Ceiling:  He gets about seven targets a game, hauls in four catches a contest for about 800 yards and six scores on the season.

Floor:   What will actually happen is… Everything falls apart for Delanie. He can’t stay healthy and his foot nags him all season. This causes him to cede targets to Dion Lewis, Corey Davis and others. His production craters and he has his worst possible season. He gets about seven targets a game, hauls in four catches a contest for about 800 yards and six scores on the season.
