Starts & Sits of the Week: Tua Tagovailoa, Nick Chubb, Marvin Harrison Jr., and More!

Cole Kmet Chicago Bears Tight End Sleeper

My apologies for the lack of articles the past two weeks, if you listen to the podcast you’ll know that I sank to the bottom of a pond after getting a cut-rate BBL. But they dragged the pond and pulled me out, I got the concrete removed from my ass, and we are all set to go.

QB START OF THE WEEK: Tua Tagovailoa, MIA vs. ARI (ECR: 15, my rank: 9)

Tua returning won’t completely fix Miami’s offense, but it will allow the Dolphins to attack down the field again. I expect at least one deep touchdown from Tagovailoa to Tyreek Hill and an overall bounce-back performance against a mediocre at best Cardinals defense.

OTHER QB STARTS:
Jared Goff, DET vs. TEN (ECR: 14, my rank: 11)
QB SIT OF THE WEEK: Kyler Murray, ARI @ MIA (ECR: 9, my rank: 21)

Murray is QB11 on the season, no one is on bye this week, and most importantly Miami is the best defense in the league at preventing opposing QBs from scoring fantasy points. Avoid Kyler, stream Russell Wilson or Bo Nix instead.

RB START OF THE WEEK: Nick Chubb, CLE vs. BAL (ECR: 36, my rank: 21)

This one is simple: if Nick Chubb is active, play him. He is one of the best running backs we’ve seen recently. You’ll be so mad if you leave him on your bench and he goes off for 20+ points.

OTHER RB STARTS:
David Montgomery, DET vs. TEN (ECR: 25, my rank: 24)
RB SIT OF THE WEEK: Tony Pollard, TEN @ DET (ECR: 22, my rank: 27)

You may be in a situation like me in my home league where you’re backed into starting Pollard this week. His role is large and therefore his floor is solid, but there is very little ceiling to be had against an elite Lions run defense. Expect Detroit to shut down Tennessee’s rushing attack and force Mason Rudolph to beat them (he will not).

OTHER RB SITS:
Chase Brown, CIN vs. PHI (ECR: 24, my rank: 32)
WR START OF THE WEEK: Darnell Mooney, ATL @ TB (ECR: 26, my rank: 22)

The former Bear is playing the best football of his career in Atlanta this season, coming in at WR17 overall on the season and WR25 in points per game currently. Tampa Bay is also the fifth-best matchup for opposing WRs. Oh, and the Bucs allowed Mooney to score 31.5 PPR points just three weeks ago.

WR SIT OF THE WEEK: Marvin Harrison Jr., ARI @ MIA (ECR: 23, my rank: 33)

Here is a list of wide receivers I would start over MHJ this week:

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba
  • Tank Dell
  • Romeo Doubs
  • Tyler Lockett
  • DeAndre Hopkins
  • Keenan Allen
  • Ladd McConkey

Point made.

OTHER WR SITS:
Zay Flowers, BAL @ CLE (ECR: 18, my rank: 26)
TE START OF THE WEEK: Cole Kmet, CHI @ WAS (ECR: 13, my rank: 5)

I do not understand this consensus ranking. Kmet is the TE3 on the season in both points per game and overall scoring, and he’s facing a bad Washington defense. Double-digit points are incoming again.

TE SIT OF THE WEEK: Sam LaPorta, DET vs. TEN (ECR: 11, my rank: 15)

I love Sam LaPorta the player, but Sam LaPorta the fantasy asset has been disappointing this season. The Titans are also second-best at preventing opposing TEs from scoring fantasy points. Wait until next week for the LaPorta breakout game.
