Fantasy Football Week 12 Defense

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league! Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses. This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses. Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing bad because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good. Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options on a weekly basis. Onto our fantasy football week 12 defense picks!

Week 12 Defense: Indianapolis (24% owned)

Over the last four weeks, the Indianapolis Colts have been hot, winning four straight games and putting themselves back in the playoff hunt.  This week, the Colts are playing a Miami Dolphins team that has given up the 9th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.  While this defense has been plagued with injuries, they have been quietly improving on the year and have the best match-up of the week based on opponents strength.

Week 12 Defense: Green Bay (34% owned)

Green Bay is in desperation mode this week.  If they don’t win out, their chances of making the playoffs are done.  This week, they are playing a Minnesota Vikings team that has given up the 8th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.  Under Mike Pettine, the Packers defense has improved tremendously.  The only issue is how Mike McCarthy will sabotage the Packers this week.

ABSURDITY CHECK A.K.A.  Are You A Gambling Man/Woman?

Week 12 Defense: Buffalo (18% owned)

If you are a gambling man, the Buffalo Bills defense has the highest highs and the lowest lows.  Buffalo has a defense that is legitimately great.  The problem is they have an offense that is so bad, it hamstrings their defense.  So the question is whether Buffalo can handle a Jacksonville offense that has given up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing defenses.
