Fantasy Football Week 10 WR Sleepers
Every week, we try to help you find WR sleepers that have great matchups that could make the difference between victory or defeat in your fantasy football matchup. To make the list, these WR sleepers have to be unowned in at least 50% of Yahoo! leagues. For deep leaguers, we find one guy available in at least 90% of leagues. Good luck, and as always, if I screw anything up with these week 10 WR sleepers, I will return every penny you paid me for my opinions.
Week 10 WR Sleeper: Tyrell Williams at Oakland (48% owned)
At this point, I’m firing up everyone with a pulse against the Oakland Raiders defense, mostly because anyone with a pulse can light up the Oakland Raiders defense. Tyrell Williams has four touchdowns in his last three games and exactly 118 yards in two of his last three. I’ll give him a dang pass for not getting the third game of 118 yards playing in Seattle. As for his opponent.. there’s no good way to say this, but the Raiders have completely given up on the season. We all saw that on Thursday Night Football when a complete unknown destroyed the Raiders. When they were “trying,” the Raiders “held” Tyrell to 66 yards. This week should see him doubling that, or at least doubling his fantasy points (by tossing in a touchdown). He barely makes the week 10 WR sleepers list, but it feels like a no-brainer to put him there.
Week 10 WR Sleeper: Christian Kirk at Kansas City (29% owned)
The Chiefs defense is much better at home, but that doesn’t mean that they are actively good in Arrowhead. Christian Kirk has at least 57 yards or a score in each of his last four games, and five of his last six. Honestly, his ownership should be high enough to disqualify him from the week 10 WR sleepers list. He’s beamed up fantasy owners with double-digit fantasy days in three of his last four games, as well. The Chiefs are an aggressively average defense against opposing WRs (sixteenth or seventeenth, depending on your metrics). This one will likely be a shootout, meaning lots of opportunity for Kirk. Consider Kirk and Josh Rosen to be Darmok and Jalad on the ocean, and his fantasy day to be Temba, his arms open. Yes, I know that was Captain Picard and not Kirk. Shut up, nerds.
Side Note: If Tim Tebow has a Captain of the Starship Enterprise, is it a Christian Kirk?
Week 10 WR Sleeper: Michael Gallup at Philadelphia (6% owned)
Yes, I know Amari Cooper is there. Yes, I know Michael Gallup has topped five targets just once this season. But that 5+ target game came last week with opposing defenses focusing on Amari and opening things up for Gallup just a little bit. I am a huge Michael Gallup fan and think that he would already be a fantasy factor if he was on the Patriots or Saints. Instead, he has Dak Attack under center, who has taken nearly half a season to put his brain back together properly and not screw everything all up anymore. Gallup has had his two best fantasy days of the season in the last two weeks, and get a Philly defense that has allowed fifteen 9+ point fantasy days in half-PPR this season (in eight games). That’s nearly two a game, which means there will be plenty available for Gallup to produce this week.
