If you like your running backs with a change of scenery, then this fantasy football Isaiah Crowell player profile is for you. As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts. When you don’t see us talking about Christine Michael or Mike Davis, don’t get mad at us for neglecting your favorite sleeper. Get mad at yourself for having bad taste in football players. We are only focusing on the top-rated running backs in standard scoring and points per game leagues.
With my player profiles, I’ve only decided to go back to look at their fantasy scoring for three years. I could show you lists from earlier, but most of the guys at the top are no longer in the league anymore. I’ve also added a chart for their usage over that time span. We will try to determine, based on those two factors, where the best running back value lies.

Overview: I like Isaiah Crowell. I always have. The problem is he has never actually given me a reason to like him. His career numbers are average at best. Moreover, I am not sure he is in the best situation with the New York Jets. The one thing he does have going for him is relatively little competition in New York. The only other running backs of note on that roster are Bilal Powell, Thomas Rawls, and Elijah McGuire. I’ve never been a big fan of Powell and while I like Rawls, I’m not sure I trust him after last year. McGuire is a second-year player that I am very high on and I think he is the only true challenge to Crowell’s starting job.
Strategy: I think what I like most about Crowell is his ADP. For all my questions, he seems like a safe bet to be a volume play in New York and you can get him fairly cheap. If you are light on running backs in the 9th round, I’d definitely consider looking his way.
Ceiling: I think the best you can hope for is a steady RB2 level of production from him, which is not bad at all for a mid-round pick.
Floor: What will actually happen is he will plummet down the Jets depth chart of mediocrity. He spends most of his time on the bench if he is lucky. Also, you spend the rest of your fantasy season wondering why you thought drafting a player on the Jets was a good idea.
