Start or Sit Kareem Hunt, Bo Scarbrough, or Brian Hill in Week 12?

Should I Start or Sit Kareem Hunt, Bo Scarbrough, or Brian Hill in Week 12?

As you know, my wife and I are going head to head this year to see who is better at predicting the unpredictable, and telling you who you should start or sit. I am using mostly statistical analysis with a touch of a gut feeling. Erin is using whatever thing she uses to tell you how each player’s name speaks to her. We’ve already covered some quaterbacks and wide receivers. Let’s look at some Week 12 running backs.

Week 12 Start or Sit Picks

Start or Sit Kareem Hunt vs. Miami Dolphins Week 12

Bryan’s Take: Hunt has really hit the ground running since returning from suspension. Well, he’s actually hit the ground catching. In his two games back, he’s only notched 10 rushing attempts but has 13 receptions on 17 targets. He’s kind of like the Browns’ new Duke Johnson, except way more talented. Hunt is just as dynamic as we all remember from his Chiefs days, and will have plenty of opportunities to show off against the Dolphins Start Kareem Hunt in Week 12.

Erin’s Take: The name Kareem means “generous,” and, let’s face it, it’s just fun to say. Even though it’s a fairly common name, I don’t think it ever sounds overused or commonplace.  It does make me think about basketball. How could it not? Basketball aside, I still think you should start Kareem Hunt in Week 12.

Start or Sit Bo Scarbrough vs. Washington Redskins Week 12

Bryan’s Take: For the second time this season, the Detroit Lions made every fantasy owner looking at the box score say, “who?” Scarbrough went from practice squad to starter in a matter of hours. He carried the ball fourteen times and scored. He also almost had a second TD but was stuffed at the one. So, of course, everyone wants to know who the hell Bo Scarbrough is. We know just as much about him as you do. That said, he’s expected to start again, and this time he gets a Washington team that absolutely sucks. If you need a flex fill-in, or you’re desperate for an RB2, Scarbrough is definitely worth a look this week. Start Bo Scarbrough in Week 12.

Erin’s Take: Bo Scarbrough is so deep south it hurts. I knew “Bo” was a strong, southern name before I learned that he spent his entire pre-NFL life in Alabama. I’m sure he’s a respectful gentleman, who has played an awful lot of football in his life. I just don’t think he sounds like he’s particularly good at it.  Sit Bo Scarbrough in Week 12.

Start or Sit Brian Hill vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Week 12

Bryan’s Take: It’s really nothing against Brian Hill, even though he spells his name the wrong way. Hill was the de facto starter with both Devonta Freeman and Ito Smith out, but that opportunity was a mirage. He never had a chance. The Falcons are third-worst in the league in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns. Tampa has been good against the run this year, but the matchup doesn’t even matter. There’s a slim possibility that Freeman may be back (most likely not), and Atlanta doesn’t know how to run the ball. Sit Brian Hill in Week 12.

Erin’s Take: Brian Hill reminds me of a kid I went to junior high with, who pooped his sweatpants in the middle of class. I don’t think Brian Hill ever pooped his pants (maybe he did), but I do think he may have worn sweatpants in junior high. Sit Brian Hill in Week 12.

Final Ranks

Bryan: Kareem Hunt > Bo Scarborough > Brian Hill

Erin: Kareem Hunt > Bo Scarborough > Brian Hill
