Week fifteen of the 2024 NFL season is complete and the good news is the fantasy playoffs are here. The bad news is your roster is probably dead. Luckily, the waiver wire exists to save you from the cruel and unforgiving fantasy football gods. I’m going to provide you with the best options available. If I don’t mention someone whom you think I should be talking about, just know there are many reasons why I overlooked them. Maybe they are owned in most leagues. Maybe they are so bad I don’t even consider them. Maybe it’s because your opinions cannot be trusted. After all, you are here. So let us examine our best week sixteen waiver wire players for your championship run…
Week Sixteen Waiver Wire Quarterbacks
Jameis Winston, Cleveland Browns (32% rostered)
This is a tough one because Jameis Winston was so bad this week, but if you need a quarterback for the fantasy playoffs, there is no better streaming match-up than Jameis against the Bengals. The Cincinnati Bengals are giving up the third-most fantasy points against opposing quarterbacks. The real problem is we don’t know when Jameis is going to be starting. Monitor who the starting quarterback for the Browns is going to be and start them.
Week Sixteen Waiver Wire Running Backs
Jerome Ford, Cleveland Browns (54% rostered)
With Nick Chubb out for the rest of the season, Jerome Ford became waiver priority number one. In week fifteen, 104 all-purpose yards and 1 touchdown. A lead back available in half of the leagues for the fantasy football playoffs is a godsend. Hopefully, he is available in your leagues.
Week Sixteen Waiver Wire Waiver Wires
Jalen McMillan, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (18% rostered)
Last week, I didn’t talk about Jalen McMillan because his 4 catches, 59 yards, and 2 touchdown performance felt like a fluke. In week fifteen, McMillan followed up with a 5 catch, 75 yards, and 1 touchdown performance. While it might still be a fluke, Jalen McMillan might also be a league winner. I was really high on McMillan coming out and he is facing a Cowboys secondary that wide receivers can beat.
Week Sixteen Waiver Wire Tight Ends
Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars (10% rostered)
Evan Engram is dead. Christian Kirk is dead. Brenton Strange is the defacto WR2 on the Jaguars at the moment. And he finished as the TE4 in week fifteen with 11 catches for 73 yards. He also has a plus match-up against the Raiders next week.
