2024 Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet:

Tua Tagovailoa

Week seven of the 2024 NFL season is over and there is no way we can have more injuries, right? WRONG! DK Metcalf? DEAD! Brandon Aiyuk? DEAD! Nick Chubb! HE’S ALIVE! Nick Chubb lives because he knows the value of the waiver wire. (Also, he’s a dawg.) If your fantasy roster isn’t alive, remember that the waiver wire exists to save you from the cruel and unforgiving fantasy football gods. I’m going to provide you with the best options available.  If I don’t mention someone you think I should be talking about, know there are many reasons why I overlooked them. Maybe they are owned in most leagues. Maybe they are so bad I don’t even consider them.  Maybe it’s because your opinions cannot be trusted. After all, you are here. So let’s get the best week seven waiver wire adds for your championship run…

Week Eight Waiver Wire QBs
Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (42% rostered)

If you need quarterback help, Tua has to be your number-one target if he is available. We have seen him be a top-ten quarterback in fantasy. You just have to hope he learns how to slide.

Drake Maye, New England Patriots (5% rostered)

For the second week, Drake Maye has put up a top-ten fantasy performance. In week seven, Maye had 276 yards passing and 2 touchdowns. If you have to start him, you aren’t feeling good about this. But garbage time exists. If he can keep putting up 250+ yards and 2 touchdowns in blowout losses, you still feel pretty good about your fantasy team.

Week Eight Waiver Wire RBs
Alexander Mattison, Las Vegas Raiders (48% rostered)

Nobody wants to hear this, but I am saying it anyway. In week seven, Alexander Mattison had 123 all-purpose yards against the Rams. Over the last two weeks, Mattison has seen a 70% snap share on the Raiders. You won’t feel good about it, but he is a starting running back who sees volume. He should be rostered in all formats.

Tyler Goodson, Indianapolis Colts (12% rostered)

In week seven, Tyler Goodson had 14 carries for 51 yards and a touchdown. Goodson is a tricky player to evaluate because it all depends on Jonathan Taylor. If Taylor misses another week, Goodson has a low-end RB2 value. If Taylor plays, Goodson is worthless.

Week Eight Waiver Wire WRs
Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills (43% rostered)

The headlines going into week seven were about Amari Cooper, but the actual game was the Keon Coleman show. Coleman had 125 yards on 4 catches against the Titans and there is good reason to be optimistic about him. If you need a receiver, get Coleman.

Jalen McMillan, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3% rostered)

With Chris Godwin being carted off in an air cast, Jalen McMillan needs to be your number one waiver priority. The Bucs throw the ball a ton and someone has to take those vacated targets. Also, when you are down 10 points with less than 2 minutes to play, why the hell are you putting your players are risk? Todd Bowles needs to be fired.

Romeo Doubs/Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers (46%/22% rostered)

Wicks had 3 catches for 48 yards and 1 touchdown against the Texans. Doubs had 8 catches for 94. Both guys looked good and that is the problem. Both of these guys are going to be good some weeks. The question is guessing when that will be. Both are worth a waiver claim. Just gotta pick whichever guy you like the most.

Week Eight Waiver Wire TEs
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots (35% rostered)

For the second week in a row, I’m telling you Hunter Henry is the tight end to add to your roster. After 8 catches for 92 yards, he is getting harder to ignore. The man is a top-ten fantasy tight end. The position is going to suck, so you might as well get the guy who is sucking the least.
