2024 Fantasy Football Week 4 Streaming Defenses: Streaming Against Florida Man

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know it is essential to winning your fantasy football league.  If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?  I just told you it’s a necessary part of winning your fantasy football league!  Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses.  This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses.  Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing badly because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good.  Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options every week.

Houston Texans DEF (46% owned) @ Jacksonville Jaguars

The Texans are my favorite streaming defense for the week. Currently, the Jacksonville Jaguars are giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses. While there are better fantasy matchups, I can’t get past one simple fact.  The Jacksonville Jaguars are the worst team in football. Other teams might look worse now, but if you watch their game tape, you can see a team quickly spiraling out of control.  Jacksonville is playing on a short week and just got pantsed on national television. Meanwhile, the Texans’ defense has to be itching to wash the bad taste out of their mouth from the Vikings game. I expect Houston to demolish the Jaguars.

Miami Dolphins DEF (53% owned) @ Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans are currently giving up the most fantasy points to opposing defenses, so the Dolphins feel like a no-brainer.  The Titans offense has the most turnovers, the second most sacks, and most important of all: Will Levis.  Will Levis is the gift that keeps giving… to opposing defenses. My only concern is that the game script might work against the Dolphins when their offense can’t stay on the field.  This leads me to my final defensive play…

Tennessee Titans DEF (11% owned) @ Miami Dolphins

The one concern I have with starting the Miami Dolphins defense is that they only have two options at quarterback – Skyler Thompson or the guy who wasn’t good enough to beat out Skyler Thompson. The Dolphins are also giving up the second-most fantasy points to opposing defenses. This game feels like whichever team wins, that is the fantasy defense you want to start. So if you are streaming this week, pick the defense on the team that you think will win this game.
