2023 Week 10 Fantasy Football Cut List: Gee, No Thanks

So many weird things happened this week that a lot of players who had bad games are getting a pass from me. That makes sense, especially when you consider there’s about one person who is a smash add in fantasy football FAB runs (Keaton Mitchell). So, let’s figure out who we can drop en route to spending all our FAB on Mitchell. To make this list, a player must be rostered in at least 50% of leagues.

Quarterbacks

Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks (75% rostered)

It isn’t about the 3.68 fantasy points this week. However, that should have been expected. It’s that despite having one of the best setups in the NFL with regard to passing weapons, Geno can’t seem to get over the 20-point hump since week two, and that marked the only time this season that he finished as a top-14 quarterback.

Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers (55% rostered)

Jordan Love dropped 12% roster rate today, and it should go even further down. He’s now six weeks out from his last 20-point fantasy day, and that was all thanks to a torrid fourth quarter against a Saints defense that was mostly playing out the string. If you want to hold on, he gets the Chargers in two weeks, but things against the Steelers probably won’t go well next week.

Wide Receivers

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers (80% rostered)

Christian Watson has not had a double-digit fantasy day since going 3/91 in week five against the Raiders. He has three games since then, where he combined for seven catches for 97 yards. His entire body exploded on his one catch on Sunday, as he left the game with a back injury, a chest injury, and a suspected concussion (though he was cleared of that), and it’s likely that he misses time from that impact. Go ahead and throw that smoke grenade on someone else’s roster.

Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers (50% rostered)

The Chargers put Palmer on IR, meaning that the earliest we will see him again is week 13 at New England. From there, it’s Denver, Vegas, Buffalo, and Denver again. All of these teams are in the bottom half in fantasy points allowed to opposing wide receivers. There isn’t much great on the horizon for Palmer.

Running Backs
Cam Akers, Los Angeles Rams (54% rostered)

Akers tore his other Achilles and is out for the season, and potentially, unfortunately, forever.

Devin Singletary, Houston Texans (51% rostered)

No Dameon Pierce and the Texans’ offense put up five touchdowns while Singletary finishes with just 13 carries for 26 yards against a stout defense. Pierce’s injury is likely short-term, which means that Singletary likely descends back into a timeshare.

Tight Ends
Darren Waller, Las Vegas Raiders (78% rostered)

The Raiders placed Waller on IR, and likely the earliest we will see him is after their week 13 bye. If you’re in a roster crunch, you can’t afford to hang around for Waller.

Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams (54% rostered)

HC Higbee has 3 or fewer targets in four of his last five games and has more than four PPR points in just one of those games. Please move on from him.
