Dontayvion Wicks, Virginia (6’2”, 208)
What Scouts Say:
Strong balance and burst. Navigates the sidelines effectively. Size, speed, and hands are all NFL caliber. Will struggle with zone and NFL DBs that win with speed. Uses his frame to box out defenders and also shows ability to break tackles after the catch. Quick in and out of his breaks.
What We Saw:
Tony:
Possibly an NFL receiver, but showed me nothing that would indicate that he’s worth a pick in dynasty or a meaningful pick in the actual NFL Draft.
Shane:
Dontayvion has extreme twitch and burst right off the line, very quick to get to his maximum speed(not elite) but is able to leave slower DBs behind. Solid frame and is one of the larger WR prospects especially with his rumored wingspan that allows him to go up and grab the ball. Even with his ability to grab the ball, he does rely on his chest and pads to reel balls in, which over time I believe he can move away from as he progresses as he does have good hands. Elusive at points but not a YAC monster. Nothing terrible but nothing too exciting either, he’s a 4th rounder so just take the lotto ticket and see what his situation can provide you.
