Fantasy Football Week 15 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet

Week fourteen of the 2019 NFL season is in the books and you’ve made every mistake a man can make. You thought Alvin Kamara would win you your fantasy league…and you were wrong.  You thought Mitchell Trubisky wasn’t worth starting…and you were wrong. You thought that making the fantasy football playoffs was the hard part ….and boy, were you wrong.  You and your team have utterly failed.  Lucky for you, there are waiver wire options to save you from yourself.

If I don’t mention someone whom you think I should be talking about, just know there are many reasons why I overlooked them. Maybe they are owned in most leagues. Maybe they are so bad I don’t even consider them.  Or, maybe it’s because your opinions cannot be trusted. After all, you are here looking for answers. So let us examine what our best week fifteen waiver wire players for your championship run are…

Week Fifteen Waiver Wire QBs

Should I Pick up Ryan Tannehill?Owned in 44% of leagues – It is getting to the point where if you need a quarterback you can count on for your fantasy playoffs, you better pull the trigger on Ryan Tannehill now.  He was one of the top performers of week fourteen and his match-up against Houston in week fifteen is just as juicy.  Ryan Tannehill is, far and away, the top quarterback available on the waiver wire.

Should I Pick up Mitchell Trubisky? Owned in 19% of leagues –  On the one hand, Mitchell Trubisky has been a top-ten fantasy quarterback three weeks in a row.  On the other hand, he is still Mitchell Trubisky.  Still, beggars can’t be choosers and if Ryan Tannehill isn’t available in your leagues, you might need to consider Trubisky.  You probably shouldn’t be happy about it though.

Week Fifteen Waiver Wire RBs

Should I Pick up Raheem Mostert?Owned in 38% of leagues – Football Absurdity was able to scout the Saint 49ers game live (not so humble brag) and one thing that was clear at this game: Raheem Mostert has supplanted Tevin Coleman as the lead back in San Francisco. Mostert had 60% of the snaps, compared to Coleman’s 16% or Brieda’s 18%.  If Raheem Mostert is available in your leagues, he has to be the number one waiver wire priority.

Should I Pick up DeAndre Washington?Owned in 8% of leagues – With Josh Jacobs inactive in week fourteen, DeAndre Washington led the Oakland Raiders in rushing.  Jacobs is going to get an MRI on his injured shoulder, and regardless of the results, it is unlikely he is available for week fifteen.  Have you ever heard of a guy getting an MRI on Tuesday and starting that same Thursday? If you own Jacobs, you definitely want to grab Washington.  Even if you don’t, he is someone you should be keeping an eye on.

Week Fifteen Waiver Wire WRs

Should I Pick up A.J. Brown?Owned in 23% of leagues – On the Football Absurdity podcast, I told our listeners that if they needed a home run play for week fourteen, A.J. Brown was the man to go with.  Unfortunately, I was on the podcast with FA’s own Evan Hoovler, who took my advice, started A.J. Brown and beat me handily when Brown produced the best numbers of any wide receiver in week fourteen.  I’m not eliminated in all my playoffs, so if you want to destroy me further, might I recommend grabbing the incredibly talented A.J. Brown for your week fifteen lineup.

Should I Pick up Anthony Miller?Owned in 12% of leagues – Over his last four games, Anthony Miller is averaging nine targets per game.  While there were high expectations for Anthony Miller at the beginning of the year, there is no question he has been a disappointment.  However, the last month of the season is starting to show him living up to that belief.  His last three weeks have produced double-digit fantasy points in most scoring formats, which means he probably should be rostered.

Should I Pick up Zach Pascal?Owned in 33% of leagues – With T.Y. Hilton out, Zach Pascal put up one of the better wide receiver performances of week fourteen.  In the games that Hilton has missed this year, Pascal is averaging over seven targets per game.  If you need help at receiver and it looks like Hilton will miss time, you could do worse than Zach Pascal.

Week Fifteen Waiver Wire TEs

Should I Pick up Tyler Higbee?Owned in 16% of leagues – Over the last two weeks, Tyler Higbee has 14 catches for 223 yards and one touchdown, which basically makes him better than every tight end during that span. Is he going to continue being a top-flight tight end? Probably not, but neither is anyone else you grab on the waiver wire.  What Tyler Higbee has is a two-game awesomeness streak going and a favorable week fifteen match-up against a spiraling Dallas Cowboys team.  So if you need a tight end, you probably need Tyler Higbee.

Should I Pick up Noah Fant?Owned in 25% of leagues – Noah Fant had a great week fourteen, posting four catches for 113 yards and one touchdown.  Unfortunately, he also ended the game on the sideline after getting hurt, which makes it difficult to use a waiver on him.
