2018 Fantasy Football Travis Kelce Player Profile

If you like your fantasy football tight ends to literally be Greek gods, then this fantasy football Travis Kelce player profile is for you.

As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts.  When you don’t see us talking about Christine Michael or Mike Davis, don’t get mad at us for neglecting your favorite sleeper.  Get mad at yourself for having bad taste in football players.  We are only focusing on the top-rated running backs in standard scoring and points per game leagues.

With my player profiles, I’ve only decided to go back to look at their fantasy scoring for three years.  I could show you lists from earlier, but at the skill positions, I think three years is plenty to see what a player does.  I’ve also added a chart for their usage over that time span.  We will try to determine, based on those two factors, where the best tight end value lies.

Overview: Travis Kelce seems to be the fantasy football tight end “consolation prize” for the guy who didn’t get Gronk in his drafts. He’s going five picks later and is essentially a healthier version of young Gronk. However, Kelce has uncertainty in his offense with a new quarterback in Pat Mahomes and a ton of weapons to pull targets away from him in 2018. It’s possible the offense falters, taking Kelce with it. However, this is unlikely given the offense and Kelce’s considerable talent.

Strategy: If you don’t want Gronk and want that massive hammer at tight end, then go for Kelce. Unlike Gronk, however, his ADP states that he could be your third player. I like that price better. However, as with most tight ends going outside the last round… he is completely overdrafted.

Ceiling:  1,200 total yards and ten scores on 85 receptions. He finishes as the TE1 in PPR for the third-straight season and dethrones Rob Gronkowski as the no-doubt #1 tight end going into 2019 fantasy football drafts.

Floor:   What will actually happen is Kelce will transform into a swan and impregnate Pat Mahomes’ girlfriend before Kratos deals him a death blow.
