2025 Fantasy Football Week 5 Streaming Defenses: Attack Mac

If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? I just told you it’s a necessary part of winning your fantasy football league! Why do you hate winning? One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses. This strategy is simple: we aren’t as concerned about good defenses as much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses. Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing badly because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good. Due to this flawless logic, I will highlight the best streaming options on a weekly basis.

Los Angeles Rams DEF (25% owned) @ San Francisco 49ers

My first Thursday night special of the season, and it is a good one. The Los Angeles Rams are the DST10 of the season, and this match-up should be a good one for them. The Rams have the fourth-most turnovers and the 2nd most sacks. The 49ers are giving up the most turnovers in football. Perhaps more importantly, all their offensive skill position players are dead, as is their quarterback. The 49ers are coming into a short week injured and playing one of the best teams in the NFC. I want all the Rams shares I can get.

Indianapolis Colts DEF (29% owned) @ Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are giving up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing defenses and are playing an Indianapolis Colts team that is the DST6 on the season. The Colts and the Rams are interchangeable as top streaming options this week, but a reason to favor the Colts is that the Raiders are bad at the top three categories that matter for fantasy defense. The Raiders are giving up the eighth-most sacks, score the ninth-fewest points per game, and have the most turnovers in football. There are numerous ways the Raiders can lose a game, which ultimately benefits your fantasy defense.

New York Giants DEF (7% owned) @ New Orleans Saints

If you can’t get the Colts or the Rams, this is high-upside play. The Saints aren’t giving up crazy sacks or turnovers, but they are still giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing defenses. Their offense is scoring the 5th fewest points. To me, those numbers provide a solid foundation for the pick. Then you consider that one of Spencer Rattler or Tyler Shough (Pronounced slow) will be facing the best defensive front in football, and you have a very spicy defensive match-up.
