2025 Fantasy Football Week 5 Waiver Wire Cheat Sheet: Dart, Throws

running back sleeper wide receiver sleeper list dart

Week four of the 2025 NFL season is over, and the hits keep on coming. Malik Nabers? Dead! Tyreek Hill? Dead! Your fantasy season? It’s on life support, and the Football Absurdity waiver wire article is the triage doctor that is trying to keep you from hemorrhaging. Before you give up on your fantasy season, remember that the waiver wire exists to save you from the cruel and unforgiving fantasy football gods. I’ll provide you with the best options available.  If I don’t mention someone you think I should be talking about, please know that there are many reasons why I may have overlooked them. Maybe they are owned in most leagues. Maybe they are so bad that I don’t even consider them. Perhaps it’s because your opinions are not trustworthy. After all, you are here. So, let us examine the top week five waiver wire players for your championship run…

Week Five Waiver Wire Quarterbacks
Jaxson Dart, New York Giants (25% rostered)

While Jaxson Dart only had 111 yards passing and one touchdown in his NFL debut, he also had 54 yards rushing and another touchdown on the ground. His rushing upside makes him an intriguing prospect at quarterback for fantasy. I was not a big fan of the prospect, but Dart is a player who provides a rushing floor. Perhaps more importantly, the pickings are slim at quarterback. If you needed a guy, you needed to grab him weeks ago before the market set.

Week Five Waiver Wire Running Backs
Woody Marks, Houston Texans (32% rostered)

The bellcow of the ball in week four was Woody Marks. In week four, Marks had 119 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, ending the week as RB6. The most important statistic for Marks is his 56% snap share compared to Nick Chubb’s 42%. This feels like the changing of the guard that most of us knew was coming. Woody Marks needs to be your number one waiver priority this week. If I need a running back, I am dumping most of my FAAB on him. Even if I don’t, I’m grabbing him because you can never have too many running backs.

Kenneth Gainwell, Pittsburgh Steelers (33% rostered)

Kenneth Gainwell finished the week as the RB3 overall with 134 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. The problem is that he only did this because Jaylen Warren was hurt. If Jaylen Warren is healthy, Gainwell is worthless. Considering the Steelers are going into a bye, there is a good chance Warren will return in week six. Kenneth Gainwell is a waste of waiver wire priority and FAAB.

Week Five Waiver Wire Wide Receivers
Wan’Dale Robinson, New York Giants (43% rostered)

It is pretty simple. Malik Nabers is out for the year, and Robinson is the clear number one receiver on the Giants. The bad news is that he is a receiver on the Giants.

Romeo Doubs, Green Bay Packers (31% rostered)

In week four, Romeo Doubs had six catches for 58 yards and three touchdowns. Sure, he was WR3 on the week, but the question is whether he can sustain that success. While he led the team in routes run and targets, he was playing a Cowboys defense that couldn’t stop anyone. All his usage metrics indicate that the reason he performed so well was that he scored touchdowns. If you believe in Doubs, get him now. He won’t be there next week. I’m just not sure I believe in him.

Week Five Waiver Wire Tight Ends
Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins (7% rostered)

Darren Waller is back, baby! Kelsey Plum’s ex-husband finished as TE2 on the week with three catches for 27 yards and two touchdowns. Okay, maybe he isn’t back and just happened to get lucky, with two of his three catches being touchdowns. If you wanted a tight end, last week was the week to get one.
