If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that it is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league. If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for? I just told you it’s a necessary part of winning your fantasy football league! Why do you hate winning?
One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses. This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses. Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing badly because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good. Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options weekly.
Atlanta Falcons D/ST (12% owned) @ Carolina Panthers
Let’s keep this simple. The Atlanta Falcons are the number one fantasy defense right now. They have the third-most turnovers, the fifth-most sacks, and are the number one scoring defense. This week, they play a Panthers team with the fifth-most turnovers and the fourth-fewest points per game. Not only are the Falcons the number one defensive streaming option for week three, but they might end up being the defensive unicorn that you can play every week. Get the Atlanta Falcons.
Indianapolis Colts D/ST (20% owned) @ Tennessee Titans
One of the surprise teams of 2025 is the 2-0 Indianapolis Colts. Despite their hot start, they have not done much from a fantasy defense perspective. Enter the Tennessee Titans, who have eleven sacks, three turnovers, and the third-fewest points per game scored. I think this is the perfect spot for the Colts’ defense to shine. In week one, they were only on the field for 20 minutes, so they didn’t have many opportunities to produce fantasy points. In week two, the Broncos’ short passing game minimized their opportunity for sacks. I think week three is when the Colts’ defense starts to show out.
Washington Commanders D/ST (34% owned) @ Las Vegas Raiders
We are only two weeks into the season, so the data we have is limited. Having said that, to start the season, the Las Vegas Raiders have four turnovers, seven sacks, and score the second-fewest points per game. When you start the season top five in turnovers, sacks, and scoring, I want the defense that is playing you. If you can’t get the Falcons or the Colts, the Commanders are my Hail Mary defensive streaming plan.
