Week 12 TE Sleepers – InfiniTE War

Week 12 TE Sleepers – InfiniTE War

Hello, Travis Kelce owners. My condolences, O.J. Howard owners. Eric Ebron owners, get out of here, he’s great! You are not allowed to keep reading, despite his goose egg last week. Against the best TE defense in the league. Cry a bit more and keep him on your dang roster. For the rest of you, welcome. This week 12 TE sleepers piece follows the same format as the other sixteen weeks this season. We sift through the guys available in at least 50% of Yahoo! leagues to find you some week 12 TE sleepers you can plug and play into your lineup. If you’re one of those guys who likes to brag about how nobody is available in your league, then we have a guy available in 90%+ of leagues on Yahoo! These figures are as of Wednesday when this article was written. If they aren’t correct, you can contact footballabsurdity@gmail.com for your complete refund for whatever you paid to get here.

Jeff Heuerman versus Pittsburgh (20% owned)

This dude didn’t exactly work out for us last week, but I’m getting back on Heuer Man. The member of the Avengers with the hardest to spell name didn’t quite get the eleven targets that he had two weeks ago, and his production suffered because of it. However, he still hauled in four catches for twenty yards, which was way better than Eric Ebron. The Chargers were not the best matchup for him, but this week, the Steelers are. Not literally, though they were literally the best matchup earlier in the year. They’ve slipped to tenth, but that speaks more to the recent quality of competition, and not the defense.

Jonnu Smith at Houston (17% owned)

Jonnu was pretty much the only Titan who didn’t vomit all over himself once The Blaine Train entered the situation for Tennessee. Whether it’s Blaine Gabbert or Marcus Mariota under center again this week, Smith should be able to continue his recent success and deserves a spot on the TE sleepers list. Since their bye, he has two touchdowns in three games and mustered six catches for 44 yards last week, for a nice TE floor play. He has the eighth-most fantasy points per game over the last four weeks and should build on that this week. Houston allows the eleventh-most fantasy points to TEs and gave Jordan Reed a decent game for the first time since the first Clinton Administration last week. They’ve only faced a handful of decent tight ends this year, and all of them did work against the Texans. I would give Jonnu Smith the highest praise I can give him, and call him “decent” among week 12 TE sleepers.

Chris Herndon versus New England (8% owned)

In a sad testament to the Jets passing game, Herndon sits as second in air yards over the last four weeks (to Jermaine Kearse). That’s not an ideal situation for a passing game, but a great situation to utilize for a player on a TE sleepers list. This is doubly true against the Patriots, who scheme away your best option on offense. Say what you want about guys like Robby Anderson, Quincy Enunwa and Isaiah Crowell, but if I was Bill Belichick, I would worry about them before the rookie tight end. The pick your poison method of NE game planning often leaves the tight end in favorable situations, as the Pats give up the third-most fantasy points to tight ends on the season. Five tight ends have double-digit fantasy days against them in their last five games. One who didn’t? Travis Kelce, a player that Bill Belichick would specifically scheme away.
