Fantasy Football Josh Gordon: 2018 Player Profile

Fantasy Football Josh Gordon

If you are addicted to dynamic wide receivers, then this fantasy football Josh Gordon player profile is for you.

As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts.  When you don’t see us talking about Christine Michael or Mike Davis, don’t get mad at us for neglecting your favorite sleeper.  Get mad at yourself for having bad taste in football players.  We are only focusing on the top-rated running backs in standard scoring and points per game leagues.

With my player profiles, I’ve decided to go back to look at their fantasy scoring for only the past three years.  I could show you lists from earlier, but at the skill positions, I think three years is plenty to see what a player does.  I’ve also added a chart for their usage over that time span.  We will try to determine, based on those two factors, where the best wide receiver value lies.

Overview: When looking at Josh Gordon, some say that once an addict, always an addict.  Others see a winning lottery ticket just waiting for them in the middle rounds.  When you stop and think about it, we all believe that Josh Gordon will be this amazing player for our fantasy rosters because he was amazing in 2013.  By that logic, we should all be clamoring for Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker on our rosters.  Five years is a long time in the NFL and the idea that he will come back to form is far-fetched.

Strategy:  Having said all that, at his current ADP, he is an intriguing prospect.  Right now, you can get Josh Gordon in the late fourth/early fifth. Compared to Marvin Jones, Mark Ingram, or Jimmy Graham, there is nobody else you can get at that position who has a legitimate chance of ending as the best player at their position.

Ceiling: Josh Gordon has it in him to be the overall WR1 this year.  He has that natural talent.

Floor:  What will actually happen is that Josh Gordon will leave the Cleveland Browns yet again to find himself.  Only he’ll find himself in a strip club, doing lines of strippers and blow and your fantasy hopes will vanish in a flash.
