Fantasy Football Counterpoint: Should You Start Marcedes Lewis over Tyler Kroft?

Start Marcedes Lewis

This week my co-worker, Jeff Krisko, suggested that starting Tyler Kroft is the smart fantasy football play.  In our week eleven tight end sit or start counterpoint, I’ll tell you why Tyler Kroft is a very solid.  But that doesn’t make him the best choice.  This week, the best option is to start Marcedes Lewis

Tyler Kroft is as reliable a tight end as you can find.  Which means he isn’t very reliable.  He gets targets in the red zone, but in order to get those targets, you have to trust that the Bengals will be in a position to score.  There are no guarantees.

Kroft is like a Honda Civic.  It will get you where you need to go, but it isn’t the most fun car to drive.  Sometimes, you want a little style.  Sometimes, you want a little luxury.  Sometimes, you want to start Marcedes Lewis.

I know what you are thinking.  Waleed, I have never in my life wanted to start Marcedes Lewis.  Normally, you would be right.  Because normally, he is not playing the Cleveland Browns.  But this week, you are in luck.  Because Marcedes Lewis is playing the Cleveland Browns.

As Jeff right pointed out, the Broncos have passed up the Browns when it comes to letting tight ends score on them.  The Broncos collapse this season has been Browns-esqe.  But when my money is on the line at the casino, I always bet on Brown.  I’m also not allowed at any casinos anymore.

So if you want to keep driving your Honda Civic, go ahead and set your boring fantasy football lineup with Tyler Kroft.  But if you are like me, you want your fantasy lineup to have a little kick to it.  And that is why you should start Marcedes Lewis.
