NFL Mid-Season Review: AFC South

AFC South

We are halfway through the 2017 NFL Season and nothing has gone as expected.  Just the way we like it.  The only thing predictable about the NFL is how unpredictable it is.  So let’s take a look at where it all went wrong for the teams with our AFC South review for the halfway point of the season.

Tennessee Titans (5-3)

The Tennessee Titans are 5-3 this year, and I have no idea how they got there.  I have some idea.  They do play in the AFC South.  So far this season, exotic smashmouth has looked a lot like the Tennessee Titans….. pedestrian.

Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

Leonard Fournette was suspended this past week for violating team rules.  I can only assume that the Jaguars did not know how to respond to being good at football.  For the first time this millennium, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a winning record.  Next week, I expect the entire team to be suspended for violating team rules.  Except for Blake Bortles.

Houston Texans (3-5)

Texans fans are wishing Deshaun Watson hadn’t loudly proclaimed he would give his right leg for an Astro’s world series.  Still, most experts agree he made a better bargain than J.J. Watt, who proclaimed he’d give “both his nuts” to see the Astro’s in the playoffs and promptly ended up on season-ending Injured Reserve.

Indianapolis Colts (3-6)

This week, the Indianapolis Colts put Andrew Luck on season-ending Injured Reserve, effectively ending the seasons of Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts.  The good news is the last time the Colts horribly maimed their quarterback, they found themselves in a position to draft and terribly disfigure a new quarterback.  Experts are curious whose life the Indianapolis Colts will ruin with the first selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.
