Fantasy Football Week Three QB Sleepers – WarBortles

Week Three QB Sleepers

This is the last week where streaming will be a luxury for you, not a difficult decision that you have to make because you’re an idiot and drafted an entire team with the same bye week. That having been said, there isn’t a reason why you shouldn’t look towards one-week options if you feel like the guys you drafted stink out loud. These week three QB sleepers will help you fill the gaps if you missed out on Ryan Fitzpatrick, or if your quarterback has a bad matchup this week. To make the week three QB sleepers list, the player must be available in at least half of fantasy football leagues. For the “that player is available in your league? Pfft, I’d like to play in your league” crowd. First of all, calm down. Second of all, there’s a guy available in at least 90% of leagues so shut up about it. Ownership figures are as of Friday morning and are sourced from Yahoo! fantasy football leagues.

Blake Bortles versus Tennessee (38% owned)
Bortles is a completely different quarterback without a fully-healthy Leonard Fournette, and he showed it last week, popping off for 376 yards and four touchdowns en route to a Jacksonville win over New England. There’s the unbearable lightness of being Bort to always worry about, and he has a dud in his back pocket at all times. Still, Tennessee has allowed two touchdowns to both quarterbacks they’ve played this year and 270 yards per contest to QBs. Even if Fournette plays, he’ll likely be limited, which means it’s a WarBortles game.

Andy Dalton at Carolina (32% owned)
I will continue to write about the man affectionately known as fire crotch Red Rifle until he gets the respect he deserves. Since the Bengals switched over to Bill Lazor in week three last season, Dalton boasts a 31 TD/9 INT ratio. If he had managed to cram all that into one season, there would be some definite buzz about Dalton, but his disastrous first two games put a damper on his season-ending numbers. If that sixteen game stretch had been in one season, he would have joined a short list of  QBs who mustered 30+ TDs and fewer than ten picks in a year. The list of players to do that? Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Brett Favre, Carson Wentz, Donovan McNabb, Matt Ryan, Peyton Manning, Russell Wilson, Tom Brady, and Tony Romo. This man deserves better ownership, regardless of the matchup, and that’s why he’s a darling among week three QB sleepers.

Joe Flacco versus Denver (10% owned)
Sub-10% quarterbacks are usually a gosh darned mess. This week is no exception. Flacco gets a Denver team that is a neutral matchup for QBs this year (smack dab in the middle), but allowed 22 fantasy points to Russell Wilson and 15 to Derek Carr, despite Jon Gruden’s best efforts. Both QBs topped 280 passing yards, as well. Flacco has five touchdowns to two picks this year and is averaging over 300 yards a game. Fire him up if you’re exceptionally desperate.
