Week Fourteen Defense Fantasy Football – When All Your Streams Have Died

week fourteen defense

It is week fourteen and you are either in do or die mode or your playoffs have started.  If you read my article on playing the waiver wire game, you know that the waiver wire is an essential part of winning your fantasy football league.  If you haven’t read it, what are you waiting for?  I just told you it’s an essential part of winning your fantasy football league!  Why do you hate winning?

One of the best ways to maximize your weekly scoring is to stream defenses.  This strategy is simple – we aren’t as concerned about good defenses, so much as finding defenses that are playing terrible offenses.  Bad offenses are more likely to keep playing bad, because if they knew how to be good, they would already be good.  Because of this flawless logic, I will be pointing out the best streaming options on a weekly basis.

Green Bay DEF (62% owned)

The Green Bay Packers are playing the Cleveland Browns this week.  This is a no-brainer defensive streaming option.  The Cleveland Browns are giving up the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing defenses in standard scoring leagues.  If you can get the Green Bay Packers, you should be starting the Green Bay Packers.  You should always be all on teams that are playing the Browns.

Cincinnati DEF (52% owned)

Last week, the Cincinnati Bengals had a hard fought match against an offensive powerhouse in the Pittsburgh Steelers.  This week, their opponent is a different kind of offensive.  Over the past few weeks, the Chicago Bears have been on a downward spiral.  Their offense has just been terrible.  They have given up the 6th most fantasy points to opposing defenses in standard scoring leagues.  That makes the Cincinnati Bengals an ideal week fourteen defense to stream.

Buffalo DEF (28% owned)

This is an option I am less sure about.  After starting out the year hot, the Buffalo Bills have been a huge disappointment on defense.  However, this week they are playing an Indianapolis Colts team that has given up the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing defenses.  So it really comes down to two questions.  On the one hand, do you feel comfortable betting on the Buffalo Bills?  On the other hand, do you feel comfortable betting against the Indianapolis Colts?
