Start or Sit Michael Gallup, Kenny Golladay or John Brown in Week 13?

Should I Start or Sit Michael Gallup, Kenny Golladay or John Brown in Week 13?

As you know, my wife and I are going head to head this year to see who is better at predicting the unpredictable, and telling you who you should start or sit. I am using mostly statistical analysis with a touch of gut feeling. Erin is using whatever thing she uses to tell you how each player’s name speaks to her. As you can see below, Erin and I are neck and neck as we head into the home stretch. The fantasy playoffs are just around the corner for many of us, and this week’s games could make or break your season. Let’s give thanks to the fantasy gods, while we take a look at some Turkey Day wide receiver options.

Week 13 Start or Sit Picks

Start or Sit Michael Gallup vs. Buffalo Bills Week 13

Bryan’s Take: I expect the entire Cowboys’ offense, Gallup included, to bounce back in a big way on Thanksgiving Day, after the mostly miserable slogfest in New England on Sunday. The Bills have a good defense but have been susceptible to the pass in recent weeks. You can bet Dak and friends want to make a statement, and show the world they’re still an offense to be reckoned with. At Home. On Thanksgiving. Start Michael Gallup in Week 13.

Erin’s Take: I’ve never been a fan of the name “Michael,” mostly because of how it’s spelled. I could never get the whole “ae” thing down, and it’s haunted me for life. Also, “Michael” hasn’t been on the most popular baby names list in quite some time. “Gallup,” on the other hand, makes me think of horses, which could be good. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives. Sit Michael Gallup in Week 13.

Start or Sit Kenny Golladay vs. Chicago Bears Week 13

Bryan’s Take: Last time Golladay faced the Bears, he put up 57 yards and a TD. Not superb numbers from a #1 WR, but look at what he’s working with. The Lions are on QB #2 and RB #4(?), and could possibly be looking at QB #3 if Jeff Driskel is still hurting. It’s very difficult to trust Golladay, or anyone in Detroit right now. The Bears are a tough matchup, especially for a struggling offense on a short week. If you have better options, it’s not a bad idea to Sit Kenny Golladay in Week 13.

Erin’s Take: I’m immediately drawn to starting him, but I don’t know why. What kind of a name is “Golladay”? Sounds Scottish? Either way, I don’t know what to  make of “Kenny.” If you’re a serious, professional adult, you use “Kenneth” rather than “Kenny.” Like in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead: Kenny stops doing drugs, starts learning how to cook by watching Julia Child, and is hired to cater Sue Ellen’s big fashion show at the end of the movie. In that scene, he reveals that he prefers the name “Kenneth” now that he’s got his life together. All that being said, I still into Kenny Golladay this week. Start Kenny Golladay in Week 13.

Start or Sit John Brown at Dallas Cowboys Week 13

Bryan’s Take: Despite his disappointing volume last week, Brown still scored his 3rd TD in two games. He’s averaging eight targets per game, in what has been a surprisingly productive Bills offense. Josh Allen has exceeded expectations, and has been a the driving force for the Bills all year, even with limited receiving options: Brown, Beasley… Singletary? They are the clear underdog here but could bring some fireworks to Dallas. Start John Brown in Week 13.

Erin’s Take: I’ve been to Plimoth Plantation in Massachusetts, and I’m pretty sure John Brown showed me around. He didn’t bathe often, had to use an outhouse, and knew his way around a millstone. I don’t know about John Brown, but I did like Plimoth Plantation. Start John Brown in Week 13.

Final Ranks
Bryan: John Brown > Michael Gallup > Kenny Golladay
Erin:  Kenny Golladay > John  Brown > Michael Gallup
