Start or Sit Marquise Brown, Mohamed Sanu, or Darius Slayton in Week 9?

Should I Start Marquise Brown, Mohamed Sanu, or Darius Slayton in Week 9?

This year, for start-or-sit advice, I’ve decided to share my wife’s fantasy football “insight” with the world. We will be looking at some sticky fantasy football start or sit decisions each week, and each of us will tell you whether or not you should rock ’em or sock ’em. I will use mostly statistical analysis, with just a touch of gut feeling. Erin will use whatever thing she uses to tell you how each player’s name speaks to her.

Start or Sit Marquise Brown vs. New England Patriots Week 9

Bryan’s Take: We haven’t seen Hollywood for a few weeks, but even before hurting his ankle in week 5, Brown had cooled considerably from his early season breakout. Facing the Patriots’ otherworldly defense isn’t a great place to start a comeback. Brown may get a couple of deep targets, but he’s just as likely to put up zero fantasy points as he is to put up 20. It would be a very bold, swinging-for-the-fences move to star him, so I recommend you Sit Marquise Brown week 9.

Erin’s Take: His name just exudes luxury: I picture Marquise wearing Versace everything.  He has to play well so he can keep up with all the latest fashion trends. Start Marquise Brown week 9.

Start or Sit Mohamed Sanu at Baltimore Ravens Week 9

Bryan’s Take: The Falcons traded Sanu to the Patriots in one of the more high-buzz moves of last week. Fantasy owners were quick to grab him, and some were quick to start him. Sanu rewarded those seemingly savvy owners with two catches for 23 yards. Better days are ahead for Sanu, but the Patriots WR chart is starting to look like their RB chart. There are so many potential playmakers that it’s going to be a chore trying to predict which one will serve as Julian Edelman’s #2 each week. I like Sanu this week. He’s had more time to mesh with the team, and it should be a good day overall for Patriots pass catchers. Start Mohamed Sanu week 9.

Erin’s Take:According to the movie Superbad, Mohamed is the most commonly used name on Earth. So he sounds like a consistent guy to me! I do like the way his name rolls nice and smooth off the tongue. Start Mohamed Sanu week 9.

Start or Sit Darius Slayton vs. Dallas Cowboys Week 9

Bryan’s Take: I know it was fun for all the Darius Slayton believers who cashed in on last week’s two touchdown performance. Don’t get me wrong, he earned those touchdowns. Unfortunately, those were his only catches of the game. In fact, he’s season high is four catches, way back in Week 5. Add to that, the fact that the Cowboys have only given up three touchdowns to wide receivers this year, and Slayton’s prospects are looking dim. Sit Darius Slayton week 9.

Erin’s Take:  The only other Darius I know is Darius Rucker, whom Darius Slayton was probably named after since he was born in 1997 (the same time that Hootie and the Blowfish were a thing!) I really don’t like hearing that there are NFL players that were born around the same time I was graduating from high school. Sit Darius Slayton week 9.

Final Ranks

Bryan: Mohamed Sanu > Marquise Brown > Darius Slayton

Erin: Marquise Brown > Mohamed Sanu > Darius Slayton
