2018 Fantasy Football Russell Wilson Player Profile

2021 Russell Wilson Player Profile

If you are interested in only the best in your quarterbacks, then this fantasy football Russell Wilson player profile should be just what you need. As we gear up to the start of the NFL season, Football Absurdity is going to bring you a comprehensive breakdown of every notable player that will be available in fantasy football drafts.  When you don’t see us talking about Christine Michael or Mike Davis, don’t get mad at us for neglecting your favorite sleeper.  Get mad at yourself for having bad taste in football players.

When looking at my player profiles, It is important to note that I think quarterback play is replaceable for low-end QB1’s.  So when I evaluate quarterback prospects, I am looking for top-three potential.  This will skew my perspective and analysis.  Because I am gambling on their upside, I tend to draft two quarterbacks and the quarterbacks I draft tend to be younger.

Fantasy Football Russell Wilson Overview: Russell Wilson is one of the best quarterbacks in football.  Over the last four years, he has been a QB1.  Wilson has three top-three finishes and last season, he was the best fantasy quarterback in football.  He has never missed an NFL start.  I honestly can’t think of a single knock on his game.

Fantasy Football Russell Wilson Strategy: Having said all that, I still am not drafting Russell Wilson at his current ADP.  If you were to draft him, I would understand why.  But drafting Russell Wilson means passing on guys like Allen Robinson, Alshon Jeffrey, Golden Tate and Jarvis Landry.  Those are all guys with a very real possibility of ending the year as WR1.  It basically comes down to whether you would a combination of Allen Robinson and Jimmy Garoppolo or the combination of Russell Wilson and Cooper Kupp.  I prefer the former.

Ceiling: It is obvious what Russell Wilson’s ceiling is.  Number one fantasy quarterback.  He just did that!

Floor:  What will actually happen is all the roster upheaval in Seattle will create a chaotic situation that even Russell Wilson cannot salvage.  Like a porcelain doll behind a terrible offensive line, he will be unable to withstand the ensuing bull rush.
